CleanUpYourCity is not a club and not an organisation you join. It is a handful of people in your town who spend an afternoon tidying up – and who are glad when you come along.
What you get out of it
You are not going alone
Picking up litter in the park by yourself feels odd. With eight of you it is an afternoon with pleasant company, during which something useful happens as well.
You can see what you managed
After every action it says how many of you there were and what came together. Not a save-the-world progress bar – the corner that used to look different.
You get to know your town differently
You walk past the same riverbank for years. While clearing it you talk to people from the neighbourhood you would otherwise never have met.
It costs nothing and ties you to nothing
No membership, no fee, no obligation. You sign up for one action, you turn up – and if it was not for you, you simply do not come again.
You can start an action yourself
You know the spot where it is needed most? Then put it in. We look it over briefly, after that it is on the map and other people can join.
As a company or association too
With a company account you can plan actions in your organisation's name and bring colleagues along.

I only meant to have a look once. These days I organise two actions a year along the canal myself.
The best part was that two neighbours joined in who happened to be walking past. We have seen each other regularly ever since.
We did this as a company on a Friday afternoon. Honestly the best team day we have had so far.
