Not to look around. You can see every action, its meeting point and its date without one. You need an account only when you want to sign up for an action or run one yourself – so that the organiser knows how many people to expect.

Nothing for private individuals. Taking part, finding actions and creating your own are free and will stay free.

Open the action and click “Take part”. You have to be logged in. You then count towards the number of participants – publicly, only the number and the initials are visible, never your full name.

At any time, using the same button on the action page. It then reads “Actually, I can’t make it”. Please do that rather than simply not turning up – the organiser plans equipment by the number of people signed up.

Every action says so under “Equipment”. Usually the organiser provides gloves, sacks and litter pickers. Sturdy shoes and weather-proof clothing are always a good idea.

Log in and go to “My actions”. “Plan an action” takes you through a form: title, place, meeting point, time and a short description. You are entered as the first participant automatically – you are coming, after all.

Every new action is looked at once before it appears. That usually does not take long. You get an e-mail as soon as it has been decided – including when we do not approve it, and in that case with a reason.

Under “My actions” you can always see where yours stands: “Awaiting approval”, “Approved” or “Rejected”.

Nothing dramatic: it stays approved and publicly visible, and your change is live immediately. It does not need approving again.

When you create an action we look up the coordinates from your address automatically. That usually finds the town but not always the exact meeting point – no map knows “Rheinpark, entrance by the Zoo bridge”. Open your action with “Edit”: at the bottom there is a small map where you can drag the pin or simply tap the right spot. That is where participants will navigate to.

Please check your spam folder first. The link is valid for 48 hours; if it has expired, just register again with the same address. If neither helps, write to us – then something is wrong at our end, and we want to know.

Log in with your e-mail address, not your display name. The password is case-sensitive. And: until you have clicked the confirmation link from the registration e-mail, your account is not active yet.

Your display name is public – so choose it the way you want to be seen. Your e-mail address never is. Whoever runs an action can see the list of people signed up to their own action, so that they can plan.

Just write to info@cleanupyourcity.eu. We delete your account and your sign-ups. Actions you ran and other people took part in we discuss with you first – those belong to the others too.

Yes. Choose “Company or organisation” when registering. Only the name of the organisation and a contact person are required; address, telephone number, website and VAT identification number are optional.

No. After the confirmation e-mail you can start right away. Your actions go through the same check as everybody else’s before they become public.

Because it comes from OpenStreetMap, and loading it would send your IP address there. Here that only happens when you want it to – before that, not a single request goes out. If you like, we remember your decision in your browser so that we do not have to ask every time.

The site works completely without the map: search, radius, filters and every action are all there without it.
